Dream interpretation

This is a dream journal. The intention behind it is to also give interpretations on the recorded dreams. In my experience, much of the dream content is prophetic and can be linked to events following the night of dreaming.
Throughout the year 2013 I will keep to the discipline of recording my dreams every morning and interpreting them every evening. That way, people may start to get a feel of how dream symbolism works.

Shield of Horn

1. Horn Shield

I'm in my room, other people, too, in the house. Door is open. Dark. I am looking for something, or I am going through my stuff of many years ago, and I am at my desk. I find a, object of horn, it is big and does not look like a drinking horn. I take it up, happy but surprised about my find, and look at it. Then I try it on. There is an opening. I put my left arm through it.
I am wearing my woolen pull over. The horn object may be a shield, I would use it for that. It remains a mystery, but it fits my arm and I would like to show the others. Maybe someone else is in the room too, who I can show this to immediately. I find that the horn shield does not suit with my pullover. I try it on my other arm and on this side it may temporarily become a telephone book, which would be able to protect me as well. But then I switch again.
I don't know what I have to do with this, but I keep it nonetheless.
Maybe it is evening or night, I go to N's room, my brother, because in the game I have to kill him. And I am in the room in between the bedrooms. He is still asleep and his door is closed. I think this is the right time to prepare to kill him, maybe it is not the right moment, because no one is watching and it is night, but if I do it now, I can succeed. By the chair by the door I see my knife. This is my ritual knife, but it is packed together with a normal kitchen knife. They are taped together. White tape. I will use my own knife only. I take it and then wait at the door.
Just at that moment, my brother (deja-vu writing this) opens the door, still a bit sleepy, and wants to go to the bathroom. Immediately I take my chance and put my knife on his throat. I don't cut him for real, but I make the mock movement, so it is clear that I got him. And so I win. His room is Aleister Crowley's room. It seems like I'm cheating, but I tell my brother, no other moment would have allowed me this chance.
That is where this dream ends

2. Car Quiz

Inside, house, unknown, common room. Different levels, two main levels. Quiz for sure. Board games too. While people are waiting. The tables are against the wall, the rooms are like one big hallway. It is dark. Me and two others, of which one is the game master, older guy. The game he suggests is for me, meant for me. No one else is awake at this point, and when he explains, I am of the opinion that I could give it a try.
There seems to be a compulsory act behind it, we are forced to play it. Someone has to, I will.
For this game, there are papers, with six or eight squares on a paper, each square contains other information, or you have to fill in your stats. Every one has to do this individually. I look at it. There is green and purple, and so on.
When I take a closer look and finally start, I see that one round is about license plates of cars, the numbers are jumbled, but on another paper the correct answers are given. I look at both, and see how it works. So I feel confident. Not just of cars, but trucks. I easily recognize the fragments of numbers.
Bale is here.
The rooms change a bit later, and other games are played.

  1. Residue.
Dream 1. The drinking horn is a residue of Saturday, handing my brother N my horn.

    Interpretation.
Dream 1 & 2. Both refer to today's get together with friends, Bale's house, playing board games and the like. One was something like memory with numbers. Another was with cars racing. The dream fragment of killing my brother refers to my duel in a game of shooting with Re, and I won, but this was after we decided the game was finished.
