Japanese Heater

1. Hot Bathroom

I arrive at my parents place, must be early in the morning or early in the evening after work. I am alone, no one else is there. The house is silent.

I am in the bathroom. Either I want to fresh up or change clothes or go to the toilet. When I enter I sense an enormous heat, this room is too hot.

I see that a new boiler or heater is attached to the wall in the corner, right next to the toilet, on its left. It is big, white, with a thermostat. If I read it correctly, it indicates 40°C. I don't know the machine, but I give it a try anyway to lower the temperature. I can't do it. I try all kinds of stuff, but nothing works. There are instructions on the machine, in red characters, but it is all in Japanese, and I don't understand a word of it, so I have to guess, which is what I do. I turn on the thing that looks like a thermostat, but it does not work.

Underneath that is a thing that turns in water, and an iron net, a whole set of mechanical things. I play a little with that until it is broken. I realize it is broken. And that is when the temperature starts to drop.

I see that thermostat indicating a much lower temperature now.

This is when my mother enters, and I tell her the thing does not work, it is too hot in the bathroom and I tried to switch it but it does not work. She does not understand my problem. And I reason that she feels the temperature is good, because it has of course just dropped to an agreeable degree. In the meanwhile I fear that in the end the temperature will keep dropping and it will be cold.

I point to the thermostat because my mother does not want to believe me. I show her where the pointer was. She still does not believe me.

Next, I am in my bedroom, making ready for bed. I go sleep in the bed, but the door is open and stays open and my father is in the room and talks. He does not stop talking, I don't really mind, because this is like white noise on the background. He stands in the corner, behind the door, but I can see him.

The room is very messy, dirty, boxes for moving house are in the way and I put them elsewhere, about three boxes. A lot of what my father says, he stands in the dark, there is no light in the room, is about cleaning up and he suggests a game of cleansing. After a while I think I have enough and I am thinking that making my dad leave is according to the rules of the game, because I will clean him from the room. So I tell him and he is okay with it.

2. Toe Nail Dissection

I see my toe nail, the nail has grown a little awry and I start tearing the little bits off, that are loose. I think that is a good idea, because in that way the nail will be able to grow rightly, but the more I pull off, the less remains. Of course, the core of the toe nail remains.
