Dream interpretation

This is a dream journal. The intention behind it is to also give interpretations on the recorded dreams. In my experience, much of the dream content is prophetic and can be linked to events following the night of dreaming.
Throughout the year 2013 I will keep to the discipline of recording my dreams every morning and interpreting them every evening. That way, people may start to get a feel of how dream symbolism works.

Broccoli and Playing Cards

1. Jaagpad

It is early in them morning and I want to catch my train. Elbe and Rume are also here.
There is a small boy that has been there the whole night.
Then there are many people, we have a discussion. Someone talks about the Munt, this would be the English word for the Dutch Jaagpad, so we deduce. The deducing takes some time and discussion but we all agree. It was a woman who first suggested this, although I knew it too from the beginning.
The person using the Munt word is already going the direction he pointed in, maybe it is the young boy. He wants to show us the way. He's across the space where we are, maybe a room, hall, like in a station maybe.
The idea is that we follow.
Later we find ourselves in some kind of wood, ancient. We arrive at a clearing, and this is very wide. There are bushes and shrub along the perimeter. We cross the clearing. I am one of the last of the group. We run. When we run forward, I know someone is still behind. There is a small monkey, maybe the boy of earlier, who is lagging behind, I lost sight of him. I don't want to turn around, but I do want to see behind me, so while I run I bend over and look through my legs behind me. I don't see the closing party, but I know they are there.

2. Old Time Phone Booth

Same dream.
Still later I am in London, it is dark, and there are two or three friends there. We are under a bridge, this is not a nice atmosphere. We are looking for an old phone booth. Behind the corner there are three. We go in one, the woman with me wants to make a phone call. All this relates back to many years ago, like the eighties or even older, like the fifties. Everything is old fashioned, and we are between two worlds. The woman and her world are from the old times but they live now. I am in between and somehow know both worlds.
A reservation was made on the booth, so everything was taken care of. Inside we are in an old fashioned suite or apartment. One big room, and on the wall a large poster with the place we are calling too. Very exotic. She calls her sweetheart and he is in a place in Hawaii, I forgot the actual name, something with Kaou.
They talk about music. When they do that, they are really back in old times.

3. Broccoli in Exchange for Cards

I am on my way home, but the group I am with, or was, is still there and are waiting for the boss to appear, so I stay. This is outside, on the steps. City.
We are waiting. We start playing the game, which is a kind of quiz. I am on the left side of the party. It looks like a large table, but it is not quite that, we rather sit on the floor. But people sit like they would on a table. I have no connection at all with the people on the right, though they were here for the same workshop.
We are waiting for Pake, who is inside the building. The people on my right, that whole section, trusts that he will come, but we all start playing to fill time. I don't care, and the four or five people around me don't care either and I have a good friendly and joyful connection with them.
Early in the quiz, things go wrong. The wrong questions come up, they have no relation with taiji or with the subject of the workshop, but change to topics that are frivolous and entertaining, but nobody has a clue. This goes on for two or three questions, and that is when people start to get nervous, because it is not right, we are wandering off the beaten track. We deviate from the path.
The people on the right only see this later.
But we on the left, we rebel against it and resist it and we stand up and want to change it. So we decide to go in and go get the boss himself and ask him why it takes him so long. People on my side stand up, me too, and we go in. I am still in doubt whether this concerns me at all, but I go along to support.
We go straight through the hallway, till we come to a T, then turn left. At the crossing, opinions are divided, because we know the power of Pake, and maybe he does not want to be disturbed. He is in his study, working, not minding our business and the door is closed. After a little fidgeting, we go to him at last. We tell him we don't want questions about ballet and that sort of stuff.

I can't remember exactly who he reacted, but I think he said he would come and we should wait a little. So we go back, but this time, the place we are in is inside, still across the road with the steps we were in first, and there are two tables and people sit at them like for a quiz, and people are joyful and expectant, because he will come. So we all make preparations. Some people are really serious about this.
Now we got so far, we still have to wait a considerable time. I care not.
There is a big guy sitting across of me, and he wants to be in the best of states when Pake comes, so he shows me his cards and says I have to pick my share in exchange for the broccoli I have. I don't know what to do, because I don't know the purpose of the game, I don't know the cards, and I think he is cheating, so I am a bit wary. But card by card, I give him pieces of my broccoli, the worst parts first, but he takes it all. And I look into his cards, which I think is strange, you normally don't show your cards in a game. He has really a lot. They are orange and brown. Some have text, some have nothing. I read some and there are some really good cards, I don't understand why he wants to give these to me. I take some of the cards and give parts of my broccoli.
That must be about when Pake comes in, but that is also more or less the end of the dream.

Some other stuff happened in that room but I can't remember. Something with the people sitting behind me. They were the other half of the party.

+ Possibly people recognizing someone, everyone does, me too, I see Dide.

Dream 1. This looks like it refers to my effort to remember my dreams this night. I had some trouble with that. This is catching the train, is catching the dream.

All the dreams felt rather complex when I was dreaming them, with many odd ends and many things happening at the same time. In the recorded version it does not look like that. This was because I really needed a good night's sleep.
Dream 3 is the morning dream, so I managed to memorize this okay.

    Residue.
Dream 1. I sent Rume and Elbe an email yesterday to go eat out next week.

Dream 3. Maybe an anticipation on the workshop of tonight, though when I dreamed it I was not thinking of that. Before I fell asleep I was feeling a lot of healing energy around me and I was also thinking of Pake and this helped me to get rest somehow, maybe this seeped through in the dream.

Dream 2. I don't know what it means. Maybe the old time is a symbol for the dream world, or magic, maybe related to M7R course. Hawaii would be the place that I would to to for honeymoon.
Dream 3. Sitting on the steps might relate to the meditation at the end of the taiji class. This was in a different training hall than usual and there were two benches placed next to each other, but we faced each other. We usually don't sit like that.
Dream 1. The part with the monkey I told Joja, and maybe that moment was linked with the dream, or later, when the meditation was finished, I laid back, and wanted to see the clock on the far end of the wall behind me to check the time, but I could not see it. It was probably that. Then the clearing in the woods might be the meditation, or the leaving of the training hall.
Dream 3. The broccoli might refer to practicing with Joja. That is what I would have expected this morning, and it might be that. The teacher came, but it still did not work.

Dream 2. Something interesting has happened. Niab suggested I see an episode of Doctor Who, Blink, yesterday. I watched it today. Before that, earlier this evening, I posted something on facebook on dreams, that you remember them when something happens to you, even if these dreams are from weeks, months, or years ago. Then I watched the video and realized it just happened to me. The episode is about the phone booth of Doctor Who and time traveling, he is stuck in 1969. This time frame fits what I felt in the dream. When I recognized the connection was when they entered the booth and it was bigger inside, because that was just like the dream, in the dream this was a whole apartment. The phone call in the dream is of course the communication that happens between past and present. This feels like a match to me. Especially, because of the weird synchronicity. Especially, because I say in a comment that I don't know what the dream means, and now it turns out to be prophetic. Eight weeks and three or four days.
