Dream interpretation

This is a dream journal. The intention behind it is to also give interpretations on the recorded dreams. In my experience, much of the dream content is prophetic and can be linked to events following the night of dreaming.
Throughout the year 2013 I will keep to the discipline of recording my dreams every morning and interpreting them every evening. That way, people may start to get a feel of how dream symbolism works.

Phoenix Rising

1. Chased by a Tube in the Sea

Sun is out, bright sky. We're on a beach. I am alone, drifting along the beach in the water, following the coastline. I drift further and further away from my friends as I am chased by a plastic, transparent tube in the water. I stay in the sea, and this looks like a battle with the plastic tube. It comes after me and I try to hold it back and swim away again and again. The tube is really long.
The dream is very lucid.

2. Pastry and Phoenix

I follow my father. We are on holiday. The rest of the family is still behind. My father ahead, me in between. He enters a building for sightseeing. An old building, complex, medieval, but not in a known city; may even be off world, or in the States. Not Europe anyway. I have a feeling that this is the inner planes. When I go down the stone stairs I first enter the cafeteria. My father is already somewhere else. There are many levels to this building, and the rooms and patios are connected in a complex way. Nice atmosphere, many tourists. Relaxed.
In the cafe, I see food presented. There is one particular that is famous for this area. It is called Croust or something, and it is like a bun filled with something, like a pastry, but the dough looks very fine, like a very very big egg. Smooth shell, delicate. I hesitate. Then I see there is another room behind me which is probably the shop, but when I enter it is another place for food and there are other variants, smaller, of this crusty pastry. But I decide to take one of those anyway. That's when my father returns and we go together looking for the rest of the family.
We come out in a very different place which feels high above ground, either in a train or a space ship, but though it is a means of transport, maybe a bus, it seems to be stationary, though not on the ground but in the air. There are different compartments. But the cockpit is of course the most important bridge. There are benches to sit on in the other compartments. I sit down and start reading a comic of Suske and Wiske that I don't know and lies there. The story gets quite interesting and at some point near the end of the book I realize I must have missed something, since something has not been explained about a phoenix that suddenly appeared. So, without reading any further, I go back and track down the bit that I missed. When I do this, I find that missing piece but it happens to be a whole new world on its own and I get somehow lost in this. I get drawn in this story, but at least, now it is clear to me how the phoenix is to be called.
The phoenix is summoned by a flute I think, and it is not alone, but guided by some other fire creature of fable that I cannot identify. So the phoenix flies and does our bidding. I never get to know the end of the story.
The scene, however, changes to the cockpit and my brother N is there, as well as the rest of the family, but he appears to be the one who is able to summon the Phoenix. And there is someone else, a friend of his. This part too is very full of light, lucid. And N wants to show the power of calling forth the fire bird. And as he does so, I think he whistles, real fire appears, I don't remember the details because all goes to sudden, as in a flash, but I can see his hand burning, not really burning, but enveloped by fire, real fire, and a lot of it too. It seems that the friend still doesn't believe, maybe he turned away as my brother showed him. So I say, I'll show you, but I can't really, because it is not mine to command. I proceed anyway. I take any object that I see to guide the fire in, because I don't want to burn my hand, because I don't know what the fire will do with me as I call it forth when it is not mine. Still I am unsure if I can do this, so I brush my right hand slightly towards N's body, but I hesitate to touch him. I do this to get a connection with the magic. Apparently it is enough. The object I take from the table is a key. It is the key of the lock I use for my bicycle. And I hold it in my right hand, between my fingers. And I point it away from me and call the phoenix forth not knowing what will happen. And suddenly and instantly, there is a brief electric flash that issues from the key. It is only small but it happened and I say to this friend, see, have you seen it. Because however small, it was real enough.
That's where the dream ends.

3. Buying a Projector

For some reason I am in the house of Niru and Nela. At some point I realize this, and I see them too, we talk about former times, and about NLP. I say this is the first time I've been in your house. Niru is surprised, Nela knows. They don't show me all the rooms, but the living room is really big and spacious.
I'm here to come and get something. It is possible that I left something here or that I want to buy something that is here. I am looking for a beamer in particular. A good one, small.
The entrance hall is dark and small but the living room is the opposite. But in the entrance hall I could find what I am looking for. I think my brother N is here too. With me.
Once we realize I am visiting them and this is their house, I want to leave, because I have no business with them, and I go out.
When I do, I enter the real shop. This is the electro shop where I got my notebook. But smaller and darker. People are there to help me. Everything is stacked on shelves and looks very cold and impersonal. I see what I need. But it is still to big. My brother addresses one of the shop keepers and he gives some explanations. Apparently, these machines are composite, and you can take off one part, but this one part is all I need and small enough for my convenience. I let them do and take a look at one of those beamers and take off the small bit myself. That should do it.
They're all black or dark. The two part system works like tablets and docking stations. You can detach the one part like you detach the battery of a laptop.

  1. Comments and residue.

Dream 1. The tube may be a pun for snake. The battle reminds me of the story of Thor and Jormungand, which I have written about. This is the piece of text I was working on last, but certainly more than a week ago.

Dream 2. The phoenix may be a residue from the walk with the witches last Friday when the talk was about the elder tree and a phoenix effigy was burned at the end. So, it is possible that the second creature may have been the spirit of fire.
The burning hand and the transfer to mine, is a reference to Natsu of Fairy Tail, what I watch, though it has been a few days since I've seen another episode. When Natsu transferred to fire to Lucy, this episode was called Lucyfire, a reference to Lucifer. That's the last episode I've seen so far.
The key is a residue of last Sunday, when Elbe discussed the Lenormand cards, and we talked about the symbolism of the key.

Dream 3. The shop must be a residue from when I got my notebook to write my dreams on. This happened a few weeks ago and I installed the computer but haven't used it yet. It is beside my bed though. The two part system refers to this, too.
The visiting of this couple is something that may be a residue of when I more or less invited them a few weeks ago, but there was no time.
