Dream interpretation

This is a dream journal. The intention behind it is to also give interpretations on the recorded dreams. In my experience, much of the dream content is prophetic and can be linked to events following the night of dreaming.
Throughout the year 2013 I will keep to the discipline of recording my dreams every morning and interpreting them every evening. That way, people may start to get a feel of how dream symbolism works.

Giant without the Head

1. Eoten in the Garden

 Maybe a nightmare.
I am in the garden of parents, light as by day, but it may be evening. Garden shed. Can't remember what I was doing there. Alone, though brothers are inside. At some point I go inside too, that is when it happens.
We are in the kitchen. I am innocently waiting for our parents to arrive, though subconsciously I know they will not.
From the corners of my eyes I see a giant come from the garden, he is really large. I am not alarmed, but N is. I know we should close the curtains so that the giant does not see us. It is an Eoten. Blue top, maybe yellow trousers. He comes closer. It is only when N starts to panic that I panic too. This is an irrational kind of fear, and now I can't be quick enough to close the curtains, and the doors, I realize. I'm sure he has spotted us. N in the process also makes clear we are alone and our parents will not be coming tonight. We have to lock ourselves in.
I go to the living room and find the French windows open. I try to be quick about it and close it, this is when I am certain that the giant sees me. I know that once he sees us his hunger to devour us will be insatiable and he will not be able to think of anything else. So in a way I am to slow. This is because I did not see danger to begin with. I panic because N instills it in me.
At that point the giant comes still closer and has his head in his hands, so he is headless. I don't know what will happen. I'm sure he eats humans. This is more or less where the dream ends.
I have no idea where he came from. Or what he was looking for.

    I note this dream because it is the closest to a nightmare that I have ever had. I was frightened still after waking up, but quickly got over that.
    The giant is a residue of when I was thinking about the possibility of Eoten being cognate with 'to eat', which I don't believe. The thought briefly crossed my mind when Kula and Leds were talking about the first words their daughter was saying, one of them being 'eat'.
    The giant is also a residue of the anime series about Eoten which features man eating giants, I can't remember the name of the series, I did not like it, and saw it more than half a year ago, but for some weeks I've been thinking about it wondering whether I should try again.
